Create and manage API tokens
Overview
An API token is a credential you generate to authenticate requests to a specific web service or server. You can use API tokens in WebPros Dashboard to automate tasks and to create new API tokens and MCP keys.
Create an API token
To create an API token, navigate to the API tokens interface (Account Menu » API Tokens) and perform the following steps:
- Click + Add, then click Create API Token.
- Enter a name for the token in the Enter a token name text box.
- To allow clients to use this token to create new API tokens and MCP keys, select Allow API Token and MCP Key Creation.
- We strongly recommend you only grant this permission to trusted clients.
- Click Create. WebPros Dashboard displays the new API token.
WebPros Dashboard shows the API token value only once after you create it. Copy the token and store it in a secure location. If you lose it, delete the token and create a new one.
